Dr. Frederick Marshall Moore is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon, focusing on minimally-invasive surgery. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Duke Medical School; and completed a Spine Fellowship at Duke. Dr. Moore has attended to thousands of military patients and even served as a spine consultant to the White House during his military years. As a former middle-distance runner, Dr. Moore believes in holistic and comprehensive spinal care. He is mindful of the unique needs for the active patient. Dr. Moore maximizes appropriate, non-operative options prior to both fusion and non-fusion surgery. He is experienced in total cervical disc replacement, minimally invasive lateral interbody fusion, as well as minimally-invasive sacroiliac joint fusion. In 2013, Dr. Moore led a fleet surgical team in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan – where he performed over two hundred spine and trauma procedures. Dr. Moore has held the title of Service Chief of the Fort Belvoir Orthopedic Department during its expansion at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital from 2011-2014, and Chief of the Spine Service from 2011-2018. Outside of work, Dr. Moore enjoys exercising, meditation, and writing.
